Little Miss Squishy Face

We are so lucky to have this little girl join our family. We named her Bella. She is such a fun, smart, stubborn little girl (takes after Sophie for sure) and she is already best friends with Roxie.

Meet Bella!

If you are interested in buying a puppy, let me know and I can get you more information about pricing, etc. They will be ready to take home at 8 weeks, which will be around the first week of November.

How Now Brown Cow

Bill and Cherie have a little herd of cows near Southfork Ranch in Parker, Texas. No, really, their pasture is just across the street from the big white house that was filmed in the TV series "Dallas". Us young'ins wouldn't remember...

Anyways, these cows are funny. They all have personalities of their own. Some have more personality than some humans I know.

Here is Bill feeding. Brodie is the King of the pasture. You definitely wanna keep your eye on him...

And the Easter Bunny decided to visit the cows a little early. I mean seriously...no one can deliver all those candy baskets in one day. He's just getting a head start people.

Ms. Kitty

This little cat right here is pretty special. Maybe not to you, but she is to me. Her name is Smokey. I know, I know, really original. I was like 14 when I got her so my creativeness wasn't quite there, give me some slack. 'Sides, we don't really call her that. It's just Kitty.

She's a good snuggler (when she wants to be), cob-web eater, and beetle eater. What would I do without you little lady? You make my life so pleasant.

I know of her love for me because she has stuck around through it all...she so willingly took me in after a year of abandonment while I was in Utah for college, having her defense mechanisms taken completely from her, Ryan joining the fam, the addition of her oh-so-affectionate canine sibling, and three moves. Yikes, that could kill a cat right there. Tough times, tough times.

So, here's to you Ms. Kitty. Thanks for being my buddy.

Weekend in Plano

We went to Plano for the weekend, and had lots of fun. The main reason for going was to celebrate my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. We had a party for them on Friday night and invited some of their closest friends and family. We love them so much and are happy to have such a great example of what a happy marriage should be. Congratulations, we love you!Grandpa Robb and Grandma ShirleyCutting the CakeLady (Bill and Cherie's dog) was happy we came to visit.Roxie had fun chasing squirrels.Lance, Angie and Liam came to visit before we drove back. Little Liam is walking now! Crazy!! He'll be 1 in November. We took the chance to visit the cows. Sweetie is storing up her energy, she is going to have a calf any day now. Here is Brody...King of the Pasture.
And this is Katie, the newest addition to the brahman herd.
Stay tuned for some exciting posts...birthdays, new hair cut, and pictures of our growing garden....REALLY exciting, I know, try to contain yourselves.

Jumpin' on the band wagon

Well, it has been a long time coming, but we finally invested in a DSLR camera. We are sooo excited about it! We have been going back and forth, trying to decide on a Canon or a Nikon. After a lot of research, we decided to go with the Nikon D300. It is AWESOME! We still have A LOT to learn about it, but the little bit that we have been able to mess with it, we have seriously fallen in love. Here are a few pictures that we have taken.Roxie keeps us on our toes...stay tuned and you will see why.... Sophie girl...oh man...she is a monster. A cute monster though.Usually we put Roxie in her kennel when we leave the house. We have been slowly letting her stay outside of the kennel. We started with 10 minutes, up to 30 minutes, up to an hour. Now she can stay in there all day. She was doing pretty well for about a month but one day this week she took some major steps back. I came home for lunch, went up stairs to let Roxie out, opened the door and saw money ripped to shreds all over the floor! She immediately knew she was in trouble! After I got mad at her, I decided I needed to take a picture. She felt really bad. Anyway, after picking up all the tiny pieces and trying to put them back together, we found out it was only 3 dollars. She no longer stays in the room...we have reverted back to her kennel.Smokey is loving life. She has plenty of room in the house to avoid any other specie of any kind.

We hope all of you out there have a wonderful 4th of July holiday weekend!

We watched Bianca and Eric's kiddos one day this weekend and took them to see the cows. They really had fun petting them and scratching their necks...They didn't like their slobbery noses though.Sweetie loves to have her neck scratched

Random Thoughts

We hung out with our friends, Callie and Cash the other week, and I have been meaning to post this picture of their dog, Chloe. She is a sweetheart.
Smokey and Roxie are slowly becoming friends. In this picture, I like to think that Smokey is saying, "Hey Roxie, Sounds like you've had a hard day. Why don't I give you a back massage?"
Roxie the "Cowdog". Like Father like....dog.
Most of the time Roxie drives me nuts with how much energy she has. However, every now and again she surprises me and does something that makes me say, "Aww". Like here, After getting into bed, Roxie decided to join me. She jumped up on the bed, crawled under the covers and poked her head out and cut her eyes over at me. I had Ryan go get the camera (I was already cozy under the covers) and I quickly took this pic. Don't get the wrong idea though....she doesn't sleep with us. She's not THAT cute :):):)
Last Saturday morning we went goose hunting. We met my Dad there with two of his friends. There were nine of us all together I think, and we only got 6 birds. Not so hot....but, it was still really fun. I think my Dad, Ryan and I got at least one bird each. Dad got the first shot of the morning, it was pretty sweet. Here I am in all of my gear...I'm pretty hard core...don't be scurred.
Here is my pops. He's got a feva! And the only prescription is more hunting!
My cute husband. Those aren't real geese, Silly.
