Long Time...No Blog

I know, I know...I have been majorly slacking in the bloggage department. Here is a quick catch up.

For the summer we are back in the Dallas working for Hydromulch Services. We plan to be here through the middle of August and then go back to College Station for school. We are currently living at the Richmond residence complete with six adults, two crazy dogs and a snooty cat. We make the best of it. I have to say we have enjoyed it thus far.

Shortly after we arrived for the summer, we took a road trip to Oklahoma City, OK to attend the wedding of Zane and Michelle Anderson. Zane and Ryan were mission companions in the Ecuador Guayaquil North Mission. We BARELY made it to the ceremony, but were glad that we were able to attend. A big thank you to Zane's family for allowing us to stay with them. We then shot down to Sulphur Springs, TX for a Mother's day fish fry with the Moore clan (Cherie's family). We had a great time visiting and seeing our little cousin Liam. He is growing sooo much, and is just adorable. We are serious, Lance and Ang, we will babysit anytime for ya'll! Happy late Mother's day to all the women in our lives. We love you all and hope you know we were thinking of you.
Mandy's birthday was on the 12 of May. Happy late birthday Sue Sue! We had a fun birthday party over at The Riggs' for her and our cousin Ben. I made a cake for them, my first attempt at a cake, and it turned out pretty good. It is OBVIOUSLY made by an inexperienced cake maker, but I hope to get a few pointers from the ultimate cake maker, my aunt Linda.Recently, my parents traveled to Israel for about 10 days. They had a great time. While they were gone we held the fort down. If you know my mom at all, you know she lives in her pajamas. She probably has about 50+ pair. Well, we raided her closet while they were on their trip...and by WE I mean Me, Mandy and yep, RYAN. :):) Enjoy.
On the 19th of May Ryan and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. I can't believe is has been 1 whole year. All I can say is that it has been the happiest year of my life, and I'm married to the man of dreams. Ryan surprised me with a shopping spree at the Galleria and a night at the Westin Hotel connected to the mall. What girl doesn't like shopping, right? And I surprised him with a candle lit dinner behind my parents house. It was very romantical. I have to thank Mandy for playing "waitress" for us. She was so cute, she even got dressed up and looked fancy for us, and brought us our drinks and dessert. She made it very special. Thanks, Mandy!
Yesterday we had a party at the Riggs'. All the family from out of town was there and it sure was fun to see everyone. I had to post a picture of Jaxen, Jake and Paris' little boy. He is so cute and chunky, just the way we like him. :) Ryan caught a snake when we were out in the backyard. Everyone was quite impressed, and thankful, that he did. He is now nicknamed "Croc" aka "crocodile hunter" in my family now.
There is so much more, but I must go to sleep. We HAVE to get up early tomorrow morning to fly to the Cayman Islands with Bill and Cherie. Sigh, I guess we will go....

Thank you BERRY much!

Yesterday Ryan and I picked blackberries near our place, just by the railroad tracks. We were on a pretty busy street, with our bucket in hand, determined to get some berries! I was worried that we wouldn't get enough to make anything out of them, but much to my surprise, we probably picked 5 pounds just off a few bushels! It was a fun little outing, and the cobbler I made with the berries we picked was pretty tastey!
