LOST...season 4 off to a slow start?

The ABC Show LOST premiered tonight at 7. We absolutely love this show, however, it was a little dissapointing for us. For a season premiere, it just wasn't captivating enough. I guess I though there would be something huge that we would learn...any other LOST fans out there that feel the same? Oh, and when is this writer's strike going to stop? The LOST writers only have 8 episodes ready for the 16 week season...looks like this season might be cut short.

Hoop it Up!

Yesterday Ryan played a little bit of some church basketball. Here are some pictures from the game.
Go 32!!!! Jared is hoopin' in up! Nice!
Not sure what ur doin' here babe... Tyan and I had a good laugh at this one:)
Sweet moves, Ry! Good job boys!!!

Last Hunting Weekend

This is a wood duck. This was the first one any of us had shot. Pretty big deal. They are beautiful birds, this picture doesn't do justice. My dad is going to get this duck mounted and put it in his office. Sweet! These are the birds from the weekend. Ryan looks tired because, he was! I took this picture at 1:00 am in the morning after an exhausting weekend of hunting, not getting much sleep and making a four hour drive back home. We had an awesome season!

What do normal people do on the weekends?

Most of our weekends since the beginning of September have been reserved for the on-going quest to shoot something...dove, duck, deer, you name it. Last weekend was the last chance we had to shoot something until this September. (Except for hogs, you can always shoot a hog.) BUT, on the way home from our last hunting extravaganza of the season, Ryan very seriously asked me, "What are we going to do on the weekends now?!! Oh boy...now don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE to hunt. But after 5 months of hunting...I am suddenly needing a "girly" fix. Well Ryan, let me give you some ideas...

1. We can go get pedicures together. Keeping your feet groomed can be very lovely. Not only do your feet feel oh so smooth, but your feet are also easy on the eyes...
2. We could do a bit of shopping. The last time I checked my wardrobe was needing some updating. Pretty sure shopping is ALWAYS an option.
3. I do enjoy a good facial. Perhaps I could introduce you to this wonderful experience.
4. Question: Do I like jewelry? Answer: No, I LOVE jewelry. Oh my goodness, speaking of jewelry, The Reliant Center in Houston has a Gem and Jewelry Show the first weekend of April. All of that Jewelry in one place??!! What's a girl to do!? Question: What could make that better? Answer: An escort to walk and talk with me about that awesome ring or that beautiful bracelet. His name is Ryan Bassham.
5. Picnics are always fun and refreshing. I know it's still a little cold outside, but this is for future reference. Roxie can even join us on this one.
6. Sometimes sitting in front of the TV can be boooorrrinngggg. Camping is a great way to "get away from it all". And...my belly would love a s'more. Camping can be made into a Romantic evening if you so choose...

Well, I hope this gives you, Ryan, or any man really, some ideas of some wonderful things to occupy your weekends, with your female significant other in mind.

Random Thoughts

We hung out with our friends, Callie and Cash the other week, and I have been meaning to post this picture of their dog, Chloe. She is a sweetheart.
Smokey and Roxie are slowly becoming friends. In this picture, I like to think that Smokey is saying, "Hey Roxie, Sounds like you've had a hard day. Why don't I give you a back massage?"
Roxie the "Cowdog". Like Father like....dog.
Most of the time Roxie drives me nuts with how much energy she has. However, every now and again she surprises me and does something that makes me say, "Aww". Like here, After getting into bed, Roxie decided to join me. She jumped up on the bed, crawled under the covers and poked her head out and cut her eyes over at me. I had Ryan go get the camera (I was already cozy under the covers) and I quickly took this pic. Don't get the wrong idea though....she doesn't sleep with us. She's not THAT cute :):):)
Last Saturday morning we went goose hunting. We met my Dad there with two of his friends. There were nine of us all together I think, and we only got 6 birds. Not so hot....but, it was still really fun. I think my Dad, Ryan and I got at least one bird each. Dad got the first shot of the morning, it was pretty sweet. Here I am in all of my gear...I'm pretty hard core...don't be scurred.
Here is my pops. He's got a feva! And the only prescription is more hunting!
My cute husband. Those aren't real geese, Silly.

Royal Update!

It seems like it has been forever since I have updated. It has been crazy with the holidays and all that goes along with them. I have been dreading doing an update because there is SO MUCH to talk about! I have tons of pictures and I think I'll let them do most of the talking. So here we go, an attempt to update....

Ryan and I drove back to Plano about a week before Christmas. It was our first Christmas together being married. Very special:) Ryan was able to go hunting the Friday before Christmas. My dad and Chad Stock came along as well. They shot so many birds, they didn't know what to do with 'em!
Dad, Ryan and Chad with their birdies

Later, Friday evening, Ryan and I went with his parents to the Gaylord to see the Ice Exhibit. It was really neat. It was cold!!! That's why in the pictures we are wearing the Oh-So-Fashionable Parkas that they provide. Nice. Everything you see in the picture, minus us, is made of ice.
Haha, I like this one:)

Saturday we had Christmas with the extended Bassham clan. We had a lot of fun:)

John, Brooke, Me and Ryan
Bill, Cherie, Ryan and Me
We had four labs in the house, it was pretty entertaining. Roxie, Lola (Brooke and John's black lab), and Honey (Brett and Glenda's Lab on the left) are shown in the picture. Lady (Bill and Cherie's chocolate lab) isn't in the picture. She is the oldest of the four so she has a hard time hangin' with the younger ladies. Thanks everyone for the wonderful gifts! We had a great time with you:) And, Brett, sorry Roxie threw up on your shoe!!! I still feel bad about that!

Doing the whole holiday switch-a-roo is hard, but since we had Thanksgiving with the Basshams, we were with my family for most of the Christmas Eve and Christmas morning festivities. I guess the couple's first Christmas together is usually spent with the wife's family anyway. We had a great first Christmas:) We spent a few hours Christmas Eve at Gary and Linda's and then an hour or so over at Alan and Jana's. We don't have any pictures from Alan and Jana's-I forgot to get my camera out!
Ryan and I at Gary and Linda's for the traditional Riggs Family Christmas Eve.

Me and Ryan with our Christmas Jammies. Our first Christmas Morning!!!! Mom with her mound of Pajamas from Victoria's Secret and Dad-both so happy to see that Santa came.Mandy and Matthew with their Santa hats on. Christmas Breakfast.

After opening presents with my family and having breakfast, we went on over to Ryan's parents house to do Christmas with them and the Moore side of the family. We were so spoiled! We had a fun time opening presents, eating a wonderful Christmas Dinner, visiting with family and meeting Lance and Angie's son, Liam! So stinking cute!! :)
My new camo bibs!Bill and Cherie opening gifts. My new camo rubber boots!Ryan's new cowboy boots. Mam with her great grandson, Liam.

Our New Year was pretty uneventful. We just stayed up late to see the ball drop and kiss and worked on putting a puzzle together while finishing the second season of Lost. Which by the way starts up again January 31st!!!!! cannot wait! Ryan still has to see the third season before the 31st.
Well, we are VERY happy to be home...it's nice to be back in the swing of things. We have about a week and a half until school starts so I am getting things done around the house and running errands while Ryan works. Thanks again to everyone for making our Christmas awesome!
