When you are 5 1/2 months pregnant, your husband gets to drag you around in the boat instead of having to walk. :)

Thanksgiving and Such

We had Thanksgiving with my family this year. The usual Riggs bunch came for Thanksgiving dinner. It was fun to eat all of that yummy food I remember from when I was a kid. Ryan couldn't believe how much food there was. Here are a few pictures from that day...Mom slaving away in the kitchen...Me and Ryan enjoying the yummy foodMy beautiful sister and her husband

The boys hunted every single day during the break. They got their limits every time. Roxie loves going...she lives to hunt. She got pretty cold that morning though.Ryan, Roxie and my Dad after a successful duck hunt down at the slough.

Friday, Ryan and I drove in for an afternoon of deer hunting. I hunted with Bill and I got my first deer! How cool is that? I shot a doe, and she was pretty big. It was such a rush and so much fun! Bill is my lucky charm I think.Me and my doe.
All the boys were pretty impressed:) From left to right: Uncle Brett, Jake, John, Me, Bill and Johnny.

Hog Hunting

Ryan shot a sow last weekend. It was a really fun hunt and I was glad I was there to see it. We both shot at another one, but it got away. Our freezer is gonna be full for the winter!

Duck Blind Complete

Ryan successfully finished the duck blind for this hunting season. I think it turned out really cool! Yesterday they took it to its new home out at the duck lease in Bonham so it is set up and ready to go! Looks like we will be hunting pretty comfortably this year:)

July

The month of July has been a busy month for us! We can't believe it is already over! Here is what we have been up to...The 4th of July was a relaxing day for us. We swam and ate BBQ at Alan and Jana's home, and later watched a fireworks show. Pretty American if you ask me....The dessert I made. It was pretty tastey.Dad, Mom, Ryan, Roxie, Cherie and Bill, enjoying the Fireworks show.

Ryan and I went with Bill and Cherie to Mamie's house for a day. I love the country life. Ryan shooting, just because he can.We did a little bit of fishing while we were there, too. I caught two, and Ryan caught one. Not that I'm rubbing it in or anything.....:)

I recently visited my good friend Julia at her new home. I realized that it had been a year since I had seen her! Too long! Well, she has a beautiful 4th month baby boy now, Cooper, so I was glad to be able to visit. This is Mr. Cooper. So adorable:) He looks just like his daddy.

Derik, a family friend of the Bassham's, and I share a passion for cooking. We decided we would make a scrumptious meal one evening, so we did! I must say, it was one of the best meals I have had in a LONG time. We make a great team Derik! :)Derik (Red Dog) and me cookin' it up!The AMAZING appetizer Derik madeMy yummy raspberry and lemon tart.

When the new iPhones came out, we had to have one. So, we got in line at 5am and waited until about noon. It was pretty rediculous, and actually we felt quite stupid. But hey, we have iPhones now.

Me and my mom in line. I was the 30th or so person in line....there were several hundred people behind us. Mandy and Matt were about 10 people behind us. Matt was the 2nd to last person to get one...and then they ran out. We saw several people from church in line. Kinda funny.

Ryan has been getting ready for the hunting season. He has been diligently working on a duck blind! I must admit I never knew he was so handy, this is good to know:)So manly. The floor of the blind. The finished product, complete with doggy door for Roxie. I will post more pictures when it has been painted. Way to go hunnie!

My parents recently had their 25th Wedding Anniversary. To celebrate, us kids took them to Maggiano's, a VERY yummy Italian restaurant. We surprised them with family there waiting to celebrate with us! Congratulations, Mom and Dad, we love you!
All of us at Maggiano's. Thanks to everyone that came! It was a really fun evening!

Ryan and I have moved!!! We are sooooo very excited to be in an actual house! We feel so blessed to have found this rental house when we did because it is exactly what we need. We loved where we lived before, but this is cheaper, private, and we don't have to deal with drunk students barging in our back door at midnight....long story and very scary. Anyway, I will post more pictures of the move later. Thanks Mom and Dad, Bill and Cherie for helping us. We couldn't have done it without you. Here's our cute little house:) We can't wait to go back to College Station, Yay!

And here are a few pictures of Roxie. I wish I had half the energy she does.

Last Hunting Weekend

This is a wood duck. This was the first one any of us had shot. Pretty big deal. They are beautiful birds, this picture doesn't do justice. My dad is going to get this duck mounted and put it in his office. Sweet! These are the birds from the weekend. Ryan looks tired because, he was! I took this picture at 1:00 am in the morning after an exhausting weekend of hunting, not getting much sleep and making a four hour drive back home. We had an awesome season!

Random Thoughts

We hung out with our friends, Callie and Cash the other week, and I have been meaning to post this picture of their dog, Chloe. She is a sweetheart.
Smokey and Roxie are slowly becoming friends. In this picture, I like to think that Smokey is saying, "Hey Roxie, Sounds like you've had a hard day. Why don't I give you a back massage?"
Roxie the "Cowdog". Like Father like....dog.
Most of the time Roxie drives me nuts with how much energy she has. However, every now and again she surprises me and does something that makes me say, "Aww". Like here, After getting into bed, Roxie decided to join me. She jumped up on the bed, crawled under the covers and poked her head out and cut her eyes over at me. I had Ryan go get the camera (I was already cozy under the covers) and I quickly took this pic. Don't get the wrong idea though....she doesn't sleep with us. She's not THAT cute :):):)
Last Saturday morning we went goose hunting. We met my Dad there with two of his friends. There were nine of us all together I think, and we only got 6 birds. Not so hot....but, it was still really fun. I think my Dad, Ryan and I got at least one bird each. Dad got the first shot of the morning, it was pretty sweet. Here I am in all of my gear...I'm pretty hard core...don't be scurred.
Here is my pops. He's got a feva! And the only prescription is more hunting!
My cute husband. Those aren't real geese, Silly.
