Roxie's New Bed

We recently invested in a fluffy doggy bed for Rox, since the wood floors aren't that comfy. She loves it :)

Our First Meal in our new home!

Spaghetti, Asparagus, Fruit Salad and French Bread. Ryan approves:)

Summer is winding down

Summer is almost over for us but the past two weeks or so have been very busy for us. Probably the most exciting event for us lately is that we moved into our new home. It is a cute 2 bedroom 2 bathroom little townhouse. We are on the end of our building so we feel secluded and kind of away from it all. We packed up all of our stuff in a U-haul truck all day Tuesday the 14th of August , and drove down to College Station that night with Ryan's mom. We stayed in a hotel that night and the next morning we were ready to move in! We had A LOT of heavy stuff to move and were worried about how we were going to be able to unload the whole truck by ourselves. But we were so lucky because the complex had actually hired a group of kids to help everyone there that was moving in. We couldn't believe that we got our 17 foot truck unloaded in 15 minutes! We owe a big thanks to them. I also owe a big thanks to Cherie for being so helpful. She flew through those boxes like I have never seen! She was very happy to take orders from both Ryan and I. :):) Thanks Cherie! Well, our moving in excitement was short lived because we had to head back to Dallas that same night for a family trip to Nauvoo, Illinois. So we unpacked as many boxes as we could, left our place (very unfinished) and drove back to Dallas. Our Little Family

Unpacking begins

Our living room

Our first official family trip (including the boys) was to Nauvoo, Illinois. We had a good time. We stayed an 1800's time period home. It was Willard Richards' home when the saints lived there. It was very quaint and cozy. We were able to visit the Nauvoo Temple, many homes of the saints including Joseph Smith and Willford Woodruff, visited Adam-Ondi-Ahman and Far West, and ate at some ummm....interesting holes in the wall. All in all, it was a good time.

Ryan at Carthage Jail

Ryan and I were anxious to get back to our new place, because we wanted to finish the unpacking that we had started. Well...with our luck...we came home to a busted pipe in our wall so carpet had been pulled up with fans blowing underneath them in hopes that it would fix the problem. So, aside from that setback and the nasty mildew smell in our brand new house...things are going smoothly. We are just about finish with the unpacking. We have our dog Roxie with us and my cat. The move was pretty traumatic for the cat but she is doing better now. My mom and dad are coming this weekend to help finish the decorating. It should be a good visit. They still haven't seen the place. Danni is coming later in the weekend to spend the night and help me do some decorating too. :)

School starts on Monday. We are both anxious and nervous at the same time. A new school brings new adventures. We think we will be here for a while so we are ready to jump right in.

Play Day and the Witch

Roxie likes to go to Bill and Cherie's to play with her friend, Lady. And we like it too because after we get home she is tired and wants to sleep:):):)

Now, I'm sure you are wondering...what does the cat think of this new 4 legged friend named Roxie???? Well, you might be surprised. Just let me preface by saying....my cat is a witch. Before Ryan's mission, she HATED him. Mostly because he was so mean to her. No naturally after Ryan got back from his mission, she STILL hated him. Because cats remember. But she is slowing forgiving him for all of the years of torture and has started to tolerate him living in HER home. Well, after Roxie came along, my cat's world was turned upside down. Not only does she have 1 annoying puppy chasing after her and tormenting her, but she has TWO puppies chasing her around and tormenting her (Our puppy Roxie and my parents puppy Sophie). And since puppies are a hand full, the cat hasn't been getting very much attention. So, the cat has been seeking attention from ANYONE she can. Even if she dislikes him....

Roxie the Hunting Dog!

Roxie had a fun day at the pond the other day. Our hopes for her are to be a hunting dog so it was fun and exciting to see that she loves the water! She was a little cautious at first but finally figured out that swimming is fun!

Update

Ryan and I haven't updated in a while cuz our lives are pretty boring. Haha:) AND my computer at home isn't working for whatever reason so I don't have access to any recent photos. And a post without a photo is LAME! but I thought i would update and then post pictures later because if I dont post now Mandy Miller AKA the BLOG NAZI would come to Texas and probably hurt me. And as you can imagine i absolutely wouldn't want the Blog Nazi to hurt me. So...an update....

Ryan and I went to
Sulpher Springs July 21st to see his cousin Brooke and her Fiance John get married. It was a beautiful ceremony and we are very happy for them. Her colors were black and white with bright beautiful flowers. We had fun visiting with Ryan's side of the family and participating in the wedding. I was a bridesmaid and Ryan was an usher. it was kinda funny because Ryan's pants were just a LITTLE tight around his buttox area. But we didnt have time for the tux rental place to order a new tux. Needless to say I thought it was adorable how his pants snug his bum so tight haha. The reception was beautiful as well. The ceremony and reception were both in a very old, cute church in the town square. The food was yummy and the decorations were pretty. Brooke if you are reading this...It turned out wonderful:)

I guess the next big thing happening in our lives is our big move. We are moving to College Station on the 15th of August and are really really anxious! We were kind of bummed to find out we wont be in the building we requested but we are trying to be positive about it all. We are renting a townhome for the next year at The Woodlands of College Station. We will post pics once we have the place all set up.

During one of our visits to College Station I applied to Pier 1 Imports because they have really cute stuff and I love to decorate. So, imagine my excitment when the store manager called me and told me she wants to have an interview with me! I don't have the job for sure yet but it looks pretty promising. So cross your fingers I it:) Ryan has applied to several places. I think he is most interested in Home Depot (they pay really well there AND they are in desperate need of Spanish speakers) and John Deer Landscaping. So either one would be fun for him.

We are both going to be attending Blinn (a feeder school into A&M). I have registered and I am all set for the Fall semester, but poor Ryan is still a Freshman :( so he can't register until the 7th of August. He only took a semester of classes before he left for his mission so he is ready to get started.

So is anyone else obsessed with So You Think You Can Dance? Ryan and I love that show!!!! I think we like it so much because we KNOW we CAN'T dance and wished we could...so we live vicariously through the contestants on the show. hahaha. But, really, if you don't watch it...START! It is a really good show.

I had a girls night out one night with Danni and Julia and we saw the movie Hairspray. We all thought it was really cute. The music was fun and it was just an easy movie to watch. It was kinda cheesy at times, but if you like musicals and stuff like that...i would recommend it. It was fun to hang out with ya'll, since we don't get the chance very often!

Well I guess that is all we really have to update on right now. Once my computer starts to work again I will post pictures. Chao!
