An adventure recommended to all....

This past weekend, before my sister moved to California for good...boo...my family came to visit us. Mandy had not seen the place yet so we were excited for her, and my parents to visit. With everyone in town, we took the opportunity to go the the George Bush Library and Museum. It was really really neat! I honestly was not all that excited about it, but I was very surprised to have really enjoyed it. In fact, Ryan and I want to go back again, because we were kind of pressed for time and had to rush through the museum. There was so much to see and learn. It was great.

So here are some pictures from our adventure...

In front of the Museum

Our "used to be" family...before the boys. Weird. The sculpture behind us represents the fall of the Berlin wall.

An actual piece of the Berlin Wall.

Mandy climbing the steps of the Wall of China. It was actually just a mural, but thanks to my superb photography skills, you could possibly think Mandy was in China. Don't be mistaken.

Chit chatting with George himself.

Mom and Dad with mister Lego Man...we still are not sure what he has to do with the Bush family.

And all this political talk inspired me to run for President. Watch out Obama.

Home Sweet Home

It feels good to be back in College Station. We had such a wonderful time back in Dallas and appreciate the opportunity to work for Hydromulch Services, but we are sure glad to be back.

We came back a week early to get completely moved into our new home. MAN! Are we glad we did!! We have had some long days this past week but we absoluetly love our new house. We have been busy decorating and putting things away, doing some shopping, building office furniture, getting our garden established, unpacking etc. etc. We would have been swamped doing this our first week of school.

So here are a few pictures of the new place.
Here is the living room, complete with husband and dog.My favorite room in the house...la cocina.
Our bedroom. Ahhhh....how we missed our bed during the summer...

Us in front of the house.

Yay, so now you have all visited our place and had the tour. Feel special.

Duck Blind Complete

Ryan successfully finished the duck blind for this hunting season. I think it turned out really cool! Yesterday they took it to its new home out at the duck lease in Bonham so it is set up and ready to go! Looks like we will be hunting pretty comfortably this year:)

Good Friends

We recently were able to hang out with our friends Anna and David before we go back to College Station in about 2 weeks. Ryan and I both went to high school with Anna, and have kept in contact all of these years. It had been fun to hang out with them and we have really enjoyed getting to know David. They make a great couple, and make us laugh so much! We are sure greatful to have good friends like them.

Pickley Pickles

Today I spent a few hours with my Grandma Shirley. She has been wanting to teach me how to can, and I'm glad I agreed to a day of learning because she is the woman that knows everything about the world of canning! Plus, it was nice to have some one-on-one time with her because life gets busy, and we don't always get that chance to just hang out and talk. I had a really fun time! I have always imagined the process of canning to be a very long, complicated, and tedious one, but it was actually quite easy! We made bread and butter pickles today, and next week we will can some peaches.
